| Description | Hi Jason Recently, it was observed that the GTVS package size increased after the UI537(OS12) GTVS package was updated. - SD(UI537) build is not possible at INTEK This is SKB's request to create a Google Issue tracker as follows Every time GTVS packages are updated, packages size will increase and free size issue will be observed. (not only for us, but for other models...) That is, Google requirement tells GTVS to use the latest version, but it is difficult to do so. So is it possible to proceed with Google approval with the previous(old) version without including the latest version of GTVS? - The GTVS packages distributed in the field are automatically updated. - When testing Google, tester can update it and proceed with Google testing. Hi YK, >>When testing Google, tester can update it and proceed with Google testing. It's impossible, some times the the app's version that TVTS required is newer than the version on PlayStore. Even though the tester updated it from PlayStore, the version was still not new enough TVTS cannot start if the version is not new enough. (Google use TVTS to check if the device has prebuild new enough GTVS) Google knows that some field user doesn't login google account in their device, so the GTVS will not be updated on their device. They use TVTS to check if the Operator's future release include fresh enough GTVS. It's hard to convince Google, because Google also hopes that bug fixes in GTVS can be fully deployed to end users. Hi Jason I think the case you're talking about is a little special In such special cases, GTVS should be updated. but in general, when tester start a Google test, if tester proceed with the test after the update, there will be no problem. So please create an issue tracker about whether old version GTVS can be used. Thank you YK.Jung |

Hi YK, I think you didn't get my point. >>but in general, when tester start a Google test, if tester proceed with the test after the update, there will be no problem. e.g. The new tvts required that version of PlayMovie MUST be greater than 1234, but the latest version of PlayMovie on play store is 1200, Even if the tester updated the PlayMovie from PlayStore, the TVTS still can not be executed. because the version that tester can get is 1200. and TVTS required the version of PlayMovie must greater than 1234. Google use this condition to ask our device to include fresh enough GTVS. This is not a special case, we often encounter it during TVTS updates. Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason, I know what you mean but SKB wants to get official response from Google. Eagle has critical issue for flash free size. So They are checking various option to solve it. So, please make issue tracker even though we would not get response of Google. Thanks. |

Hi YK, First, Google use TVTS to check the lasted update, In our current situation (space issue), when TVTS release, our QA will checked if we can use current GTVS + updated from PlayStore to start test. if we can not started test due to some Apps is not fresh enough, we will do the partial updating, e.g. There is no Webview on PlayStore for SKB device, so if TVTS required newer Webview, we will Only update Webview. I think this method can meet SKB requirement, (not fully update GTVS) You can discuss it with Intek and SKB and let us know their opinion? If SKB still want ask to Google. Has SKB discussed it with Mr. Jeff ? if you want to discuss it with Mr. Jeff, we also need to provide suggest solution for TVTS. if the suggested solution is partial update?
